What you'll do: As a Power Research and Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of advanced electronics by leveraging your extensive experience in circuit design, embedded systems, and power management. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions that meet rigorous industry standards. You will be instrumental in reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, troubleshooting embedded Linux boards, implementing robust communication protocols, and designing efficient power circuits. By actively participating in technical discussions and supporting RFI/RFQ processes with your expertise, you will help drive successful project outcomes while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to connect with others, share knowledge generously, and respond thoughtfully to challenges will ensure both your success in this role and the ongoing growth of the wider engineering team. * Lead the design of schematic circuits and oversee comprehensive PCB layout reviews to ensure optimal performance and reliability across all projects. * Demonstrate deep expertise in ARM-based CPU chip design by guiding project teams through complex technical challenges and fostering knowledge sharing among colleagues. * Perform embedded board bring-up and debugging on Linux platforms, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components for robust product delivery. * Utilise strong knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, and RS485 to develop reliable data transfer solutions tailored to diverse application requirements. * Apply familiarity with Modbus communication standards as well as Ethernet, PoE, and eMMC technologies to enhance system connectivity and efficiency. * Design DC/DC converters and LDO circuits that meet stringent power management specifications for consumer PC, industrial PC, laptop, or networking products. * Conduct detailed signal integrity and power integrity measurements along with verification processes to guarantee high-quality electronic designs. * Assist in RFI (Request for Information) and RFQ (Request for Quotation) activities by contributing valuable technical insights that support business development initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; candidates holding a Master’s degree are especially encouraged to apply as their advanced academic background will be highly valued.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience working with consumer PCs, industrial PCs, laptops, RISC architecture devices or networking-related products is essential for this position.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating dependability and sensitivity towards colleagues’ perspectives.
  • Extensive hands-on experience leading schematic circuit design projects as well as conducting thorough PCB layout reviews for complex electronic systems.
  • Expertise in ARM-based CPU chip design coupled with practical skills in embedded Linux board bring-up procedures including debugging techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key communication protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, RS485 along with proficiency in Modbus communication standards.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet networking technologies including Power over Ethernet (PoE) as well as eMMC storage solutions is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated capability in designing DC/DC converters and low dropout (LDO) regulator circuits tailored for demanding applications.
  • Experience performing signal integrity analysis plus power integrity measurements to validate electronic designs against industry benchmarks.
  • Nice to have: Prior involvement acting in staff or senior roles developing shelf controller modules within OCP ORV3 21" or 19" racks—especially those focused on monitoring or controlling power/BBU shelves within data centre environments.
