What you'll do: As a Power Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of rugged computing devices by applying your expertise in designing advanced power circuits and charger functionalities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with talented colleagues across multiple disciplines to ensure every aspect of the power system meets high standards for reliability, efficiency, and safety. By joining this team, you will help deliver dependable products that perform under demanding conditions while enjoying ample opportunities for learning and career advancement. * Design power circuits and charger functions—including DC/DC converters, chargers, adapter testing, battery pack assembly, and gauge design—for rugged laptop and tablet products, ensuring all components meet stringent reliability standards. * Evaluate the function, efficiency, performance, thermal management, cost-effectiveness, and layout placement of power systems to optimise product quality and user experience. * Review and analyse power designs thoroughly, using your findings to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive collaborative improvements. * Develop detailed engineering documentation that supports the manufacturing process and ensures consistent quality across all product lines. * Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging of power circuits to identify issues early and implement effective solutions that enhance system dependability. * Lead the validation and integration of adapters and batteries into new products by coordinating closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders. * Participate actively in cross-departmental meetings to share insights on power system performance, fostering a culture of open communication and shared responsibility. * Support the introduction of new technologies by evaluating emerging trends in PC/server/IC DC/AC power design or battery manufacturing. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes by providing feedback based on hands-on experience with device systems. * Assist Field Application Engineers (FAE) or other technical teams as needed to resolve complex system-level challenges.

- Hands-on experience with testing methodologies for power circuits—such as functional verification, debugging techniques, thermal analysis, efficiency measurement—is required to ensure optimal performance.
- Ability to develop clear engineering documentation that supports both production teams and future product iterations is important for maintaining high standards across projects.
- Familiarity with adapter validation processes as well as battery verification protocols will enable you to contribute effectively from concept through launch stages.
- Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams—especially those involving hardware engineers, software developers, or field application engineers—will help you succeed in this interconnected environment.
