What you'll do:

As an Application Development Engineer based in Taoyuan, Taiwan, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of high-speed custom cable assemblies. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both customers and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of bespoke products into client systems. You will leverage your mechanical design expertise to create detailed engineering documentation while developing mockup systems that showcase optimal architectures. By assisting clients with compute tray layouts and designing robust cable management solutions, you will help maintain superior performance standards. Your responsibilities extend beyond design; you will provide onsite support during early build phases, conduct educational presentations, share valuable insights from past projects, and offer technical assistance to sales teams. Staying abreast of industry developments is crucial as you contribute to patent applications protecting intellectual property. Managing multiple projects simultaneously requires strong organisational skills and effective communication during regular conference calls with stakeholders. • Engage directly with customers to guide them in selecting the most suitable cable solutions from the portfolio for their specific applications, providing technical advice on product selection and system architecture.
• Offer detailed mechanical design expertise for custom cable configurations, producing comprehensive engineering drawings that support product development.
• Develop mockup systems using prototype cables to demonstrate optimal architecture and validate design concepts before full-scale production.
• Assist customers in architecting compute trays for efficient hardware layout and cable routing, ensuring best practices in cable management are followed throughout the process.
• Design innovative cable management systems that facilitate proper routing, installation, and removal while maintaining high performance standards.
• Provide onsite technical support at customer and ODM locations during early build phases, offering hands-on guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Conduct technical presentations and training sessions to educate customers on correct product usage, sharing lessons learned and highlighting potential problem areas.
• Support sales and marketing personnel by delivering technical training, presentations, and participating in customer visits to ensure accurate communication of product capabilities.
• Stay informed about technological advancements in connector and interconnection industries, applying patent requests when applicable to protect intellectual property.
• Participate in multiple weekly conference calls with customers, ODMs, and internal teams throughout the development process, managing 10-12 concurrent projects efficiently.
