What you'll do:
- Lead the planning and execution of cross-functional release management and deployment processes by coordinating efforts between Development, QA, Operations, and Product teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable automated and continuous software delivery across all environments.
- Develop comprehensive release plans including scheduling release windows, establishing rollback strategies, and managing risks associated with deployments.
- Collaborate closely with the QA team to monitor testing progress, track defect resolution, and ensure high-quality outcomes for each release cycle.
- Manage software releases across production and non-production environments while maintaining consistency in configuration and deployment procedures.
- Continuously optimise release processes to improve deployment success rates, enhance system stability, and foster a culture of dependability within the team.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation related to releases such as Release Notes, deployment guides, operational procedures, and environment specifications.
- Coordinate emergency deployments when necessary by responding promptly to production incidents and resolving issues efficiently through collaborative problem-solving.
- Facilitate effective communication among stakeholders by organising regular meetings, sharing updates on release status, and addressing concerns proactively.
- Support the development of best practices for environment management by contributing insights gained from previous experience with multi-environment deployments.
What you bring:
- At least 3 years of proven experience in Software Development, DevOps, Release Management or a related field demonstrating your dependability in handling complex projects.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git combined with proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions enabling you to support automated delivery pipelines.
- A strong understanding of deployment processes including environment management skills gained from handling multi-environment deployments and configuration management tasks.
- Excellent cross-functional communication abilities allowing you to drive collaboration across multiple teams while fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
- Strong risk awareness paired with analytical thinking skills that empower you to identify potential issues early on and manage emergency deployments effectively.
- Experience tracking issues using relevant tools or methodologies ensuring prompt resolution of production incidents through co-operative teamwork.
- Ability to create clear documentation such as Release Notes or operational guides which supports knowledge-sharing within the organisation.
