• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering with at least 8 years dedicated to designing and maintaining distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments along with strong programming skills in Go, C/C++, Java as well as scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Shell.
• Comprehensive understanding of inter-process communication mechanisms including hands-on experience with TCP/IP protocols, Kafka messaging systems, ZeroMQ (zmq), gRPC frameworks, and Zookeeper coordination services.
• Extensive background working within cloud environments utilising containers (Docker), Kubernetes orchestration, etcd key-value stores, service meshes like Istio or Envoy, API gateways, load balancers, Vault secret management tools.
• Solid experience managing databases with knowledge spanning ACID principles, consistency models, SQL/NoSQL databases, key-value stores (such as Redis), time series databases, and columnar storage solutions.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines using tools like Drone CI/CD platform, GitHub workflows, Makefiles or similar automation utilities.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate openly and consistently both verbally and in writing with team members across different functions.
• A proactive approach towards responding promptly to customer needs while maintaining a dependable attitude within collaborative settings.
