What you'll do:
- Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of comprehensive IT infrastructure—including wireless networks, LANs, WANs, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and VLAN configurations—to ensure stability, scalability, and security across the organisation.
- Mentor and guide the IT team by dividing responsibilities effectively among endpoint support, cybersecurity operations, and network administration to foster professional growth and operational efficiency.
- Remain actively involved in high-priority technical tasks such as firewall configuration, VPN setup, device provisioning, and troubleshooting complex issues when required to maintain seamless operations.
- Define and enforce robust IT security policies, access control measures, and incident response workflows that protect organisational assets from evolving threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess technology requirements, implement scalable IT solutions tailored to business needs, and support employee onboarding from an IT readiness perspective.
- Supervise regular data backups, conduct system audits, and oversee disaster recovery planning to guarantee business continuity and safeguard data integrity at all times.
- Continuously monitor network performance, optimise system reliability, and enhance endpoint security through proactive analysis and timely interventions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies by conducting feasibility assessments and proposing implementation plans that align with broader business objectives for sustained innovation.
- Oversee IT helpdesk operations to ensure prompt resolution of support tickets while maintaining exceptional standards of internal service quality.
What you bring:
- At least five years’ experience managing complex IT infrastructures encompassing planning, implementation, maintenance, and team leadership within medium-to-large organisations.
- Demonstrated expertise in administering core network systems such as firewalls, routers, switches—with proven ability in troubleshooting intricate issues and optimising performance for maximum uptime.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT architecture spanning on-premise environments as well as hybrid models involving Windows servers, Linux systems, storage arrays, and virtualisation platforms.
- Hands-on experience deploying cloud infrastructure solutions using providers like AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including migration projects or hybrid integrations.
- Familiarity with identity management tools such as Azure Active Directory; strong grasp of IAM (Identity & Access Management) concepts; practical knowledge of SSO (Single Sign-On) integration processes.
- Solid grounding in information security best practices covering access control mechanisms, data protection strategies (including encryption), incident response planning—and regulatory compliance considerations.
- Excellent communication skills enabling effective collaboration across technical teams as well as non-technical stakeholders; ability to translate complex concepts into clear guidance for others.
- Proven capacity for assessing organisational needs holistically—aligning IT strategies with wider business objectives while balancing risk management priorities.
