What you'll do:
As a Facility Engineer – Environmental Focus based in Taichung, you will be instrumental in advancing the organisation’s mission towards greater sustainability within its manufacturing operations. Your daily responsibilities will centre around leading critical projects involving pollution abatement and wastewater treatment system enhancements. You will collaborate extensively with internal teams—including safety experts, project managers, contractors, and site leadership—to ensure seamless execution from initial design through to successful commissioning. Your expertise will also be called upon to extend ESG best practices throughout Asia by supporting research-driven improvements in products and processes. By preparing detailed reports on safety, scheduling, and quality outcomes, you will help drive transparency and accountability across all project stages. - Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of pollution abatement and wastewater treatment systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, project teams, safety personnel, and site leaders to address technical challenges during installation and commissioning phases.
- Extend sustainability and ESG Centre of Excellence capabilities by contributing to research, development, and engineering of environmentally friendly products and process technologies.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on environmental equipment and prepare detailed FAT reports to document findings and recommendations.
- Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) or Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) in partnership with safety teams and vendors to uphold rigorous safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly reports covering safety metrics, project schedules, and quality benchmarks throughout construction and commissioning activities.
- Support the continuous improvement of operational processes by identifying opportunities for upgrades in existing environmental systems.
- Engage in cross-functional teamwork to implement best practices in sustainability across product lines and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure all activities adhere to local regulations as well as internal policies related to environmental protection and occupational health.
- Provide technical guidance on the selection of equipment and materials that promote long-term sustainability goals.

To excel as a Facility Engineer – Environmental Focus, you will bring proven experience from roles where you have contributed meaningfully to large-scale facility or infrastructure projects—particularly those centred on environmental protection or resource efficiency. Your academic background equips you with deep technical knowledge while your hands-on experience ensures practical problem-solving abilities when faced with real-world challenges. Fluency in English enables you to connect effectively with colleagues across borders while your familiarity with PA/WWT systems allows you to hit the ground running. - A bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering, environmental engineering or a closely related discipline is required for this role.
- At least three years of relevant experience working within facility engineering or environmental management functions in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English across listening, speaking, reading, and writing is essential for effective communication within international teams.
- Hands-on experience with pollution abatement (PA) systems or wastewater treatment (WWT) technologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ESG principles or prior involvement in sustainability-focused projects will be considered an advantage.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including contractors, safety professionals, engineers, and site leaders is important for success.
- Ability to conduct technical reviews such as Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on complex equipment is preferred.
- Strong skills in preparing detailed technical documentation including safety analyses (JSA/SWMS), progress reports, and compliance records are expected.
- Overseas educational background or exposure to international best practices in environmental engineering would be beneficial but not mandatory.
