A leading global electronics company is seeking a Field Application Engineer to join their supportive and knowledgeable team in Taipei or Kaohsiung.

As a Field Application Engineer based in either Taipei or Kaohsiung, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between advanced technology solutions and customer satisfaction. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with sales engineers to deliver expert guidance throughout every phase of the client journey—from initial product introduction through solution implementation to after-sales support. You will be responsible for ensuring that customers receive timely responses to their technical queries while also providing hands-on assistance during system setup or troubleshooting. By developing an in-depth understanding of a diverse range of products and staying abreast of industry trends through continuous training sessions, you will empower both your colleagues and clients alike. • Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide technical support and advice during all stages of the customer engagement process, including pre-sales consultations, solution validation, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering on-site assistance.
• Deliver product introductions and demonstrations tailored to customer needs while supporting sales engineers with technical expertise during client meetings both in-person and online.
• Develop a deep understanding of the full product portfolio—including operational principles, features, advantages, and feasibility—to build customer trust and proactively address application challenges.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation such as dimension drawings, reference materials, and application data to ensure accurate information is always available for internal teams and clients.
• Participate actively in joint customer visits with the sales team across Taiwan to provide hands-on technical support, system commissioning, and user training as required.
• Offer comprehensive consultation services regarding product specifications, selection criteria, parameter settings, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical inquiries from customers.
• Support the promotion of innovative solutions by maintaining high levels of enthusiasm and commitment when assisting the sales team in presenting new technologies to clients.
• Attend regular training sessions on products, applications, sales tools, quotations, and key selling points to stay current with industry developments.
• Ensure consistent communication with both local offices in Taipei Songshan District and headquarters in Kaohsiung by attending scheduled meetings and reporting progress regularly.
• Travel domestically as needed (up to 30% of the year) to deliver on-site support while maintaining a dependable presence at the office when not travelling.

What you bring:

To excel as a Field Application Engineer you will bring proven experience from academic studies or practical roles within electrical mechanical or automation engineering fields. Your background may include exposure to complex industrial environments where you have supported customers by resolving technical challenges implementing new solutions or optimising existing systems. You are comfortable navigating multiple software platforms preparing detailed reports conducting product demonstrations or facilitating user training sessions. Your interpersonal skills enable you to connect easily with colleagues clients suppliers fostering an atmosphere built on cooperation shared goals open communication etc. A genuine interest in continuous learning drives you towards participating enthusiastically in workshops seminars external courses so that your knowledge remains current relevant valuable at all times. • Hold a degree (associate’s or higher) in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering or related disciplines from an accredited institution.
• Possess 1-2 years’ experience within automation or related industries—especially those involving technical support for multinational clients—which would be considered advantageous but not mandatory.
• Demonstrate proficiency with communication interfaces such as UART, RJ45 connectors, Bluetooth modules as well as protocols like TCP/IP, EtherCAT or Profinet for seamless integration into various systems.
• Exhibit strong programming abilities on PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), PC-based platforms or SCADA systems for effective development of automation solutions.
• Show competence in reading circuit diagrams as well as assembling electronic circuits accurately according to specifications provided by engineering teams.
• Display excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English (TOEIC score around 700 preferred), enabling clear interaction with colleagues and international partners alike.
• Utilise software tools such as Windows 10 operating system along with Microsoft Excel, OneNote, Outlook PowerPoint Word for efficient project management documentation preparation presentations etc.
• Demonstrate customer-oriented mindset combined with strong teamwork capabilities allowing you to build lasting relationships based on trust empathy mutual respect etc.
• Be willing to undertake frequent business travel within Taiwan (approximately 30% annually) while remaining adaptable regarding office attendance requirements between Taipei Songshan District headquarters Kaohsiung etc.
• Hold a valid driver’s licence for small vehicles which is necessary for visiting client sites across different regions safely efficiently.
