Field Application Engineer_ PCB

A leading organisation is seeking a Field Application Engineer. This role acts as the key technical bridge between strategic customers and manufacturing sites, ensuring seamless delivery of complex engineering requirements.

Key responsibilities:

Act as the primary technical liaison between strategic customers and manufacturing plants, ensuring accurate translation and execution of engineering requirements.

• Act as the primary technical interface between strategic customers and AT&S plants, ensuring clear alignment of engineering requirements
• Coordinate and implement all technical customer requirements within the organisation to achieve full customer satisfaction
• Serve as the central contact for new project releases and all technical queries from key customers
• Provide ongoing technical guidance and solutions to customers, ensuring consistent expert-level support
• Lead technical meetings with customers, including presentations, discussions, and issue resolution
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments for new customer projects and incoming inquiries
• Allocate new customer projects to appropriate AT&S plants based on technical requirements and capabilities
• Perform product calculations, develop cost-reduction proposals, and support continuous optimisation of engineering processes and profitability

Candidate profile:

A highly skilled PCB professional with strong technical and commercial understanding, capable of bridging customer needs with manufacturing execution.

• Proven project leadership in implementing technical customer requirements across PCB/substrate environments
• Functional lead for defined strategic customers, guiding product engineers across multiple plants
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the PCB/substrate industry (less than 3 years not acceptable)
• Strong technical education combined with solid commercial and business understanding
• Expertise in HDI PCB manufacturing, particularly in mobile devices or camera-related market segments
• Strong customer and market orientation with the ability to identify emerging technology trends
• Fluent English and native-level Chinese communication skills, with strong interpersonal and customer-facing abilities
• Ability to work under pressure with strong IT proficiency, teamwork mindset, and willingness to undertake frequent business travel
