Global Key Account Director
A leading global organisation is seeking a Global Key Account Director to join its Asia-Pacific team in Taipei.
This role focuses on managing and growing strategic international client relationships while ensuring high-quality service delivery and account retention. You will also drive commercial strategy, operational improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to support global business growth in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and develop assigned key accounts across the region to achieve service excellence, account retention, and GP/volume growth throughout implementation, optimisation, and steady-state phases
- Drive overall account performance by monitoring KPIs, service quality, and data accuracy, while leading root cause analysis and corrective actions to ensure continuous operational improvement
- Deliver GP growth through proactive identification of upselling and cross-selling opportunities, monetisation of value-added services, and achievement of annual margin targets
- Lead commercial activities including margin analysis, pricing (ad-hoc and tariff management), rate requests, spot quotations, and support for RFI/RFQ/RFP/tender processes
- Ensure strong financial performance through effective billing management and DSO optimisation, maintaining accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Strengthen long-term customer relationships by conducting regular stakeholder engagement, MBR/QBR reviews, and expanding multi-level contacts within client organisations
- Drive process standardisation, CRM compliance, and implementation excellence by aligning SOPs, improving efficiency, supporting onboarding projects, and ensuring alignment with internal and customer requirements
Candidate profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, or completion of a freight forwarding apprenticeship
- Minimum 7 years’ international work experience, including at least 3 years in the logistics/freight industry
- At least 3 years’ experience in operations and key account management, with a minimum of 2 years in a sales-related role
- Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight operations, supply chain management, reporting/controlling, and quality management principles
- Proven ability to analyse contracts and translate commercial requirements into operational SOPs and executable processes
- Experience in process management, project implementation, continuous improvement, and risk management within a global environment
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in additional languages, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with logistics IT systems (e.g., SAP-TM, FOS, LogNet, EDI platforms) preferred, with strong competencies in leadership, task structuring, and driving excellence
