• Design and optimise liquid cooling components and systems such as cold plates, manifolds, heat exchangers, tubing, quick disconnects, and integrated cooling loops to support new product introduction projects from initial concept through to mass production.
• Take ownership of both mechanical and thermal design processes including validation, production release, and deployment support ensuring seamless transition from prototype to operational solution.
• Utilise CAD tools, CFD/FEA simulations, DFMEA/NUDD methodologies, pipe-flow analysis techniques, and test data interpretation to enhance heat transfer efficiency, flow distribution uniformity, reliability standards, manufacturability ease, and cost-effectiveness.
• Plan comprehensive thermal validation tests in partnership with the test team covering flow rates, pressure levels, temperature profiles, environmental conditions, reliability metrics, and leak-risk performance assessments.
• Collaborate closely with test engineering teams as well as manufacturing specialists, quality assurance professionals, reliability experts, suppliers, and OEM/ODM customers to deliver robust cooling solutions tailored to specific requirements.
• Prepare clear engineering documentation including design analysis reports and validation summaries that facilitate effective communication across cross-functional teams.
• Conduct hands-on testing using instrumentation for data acquisition such as flow/pressure measurement devices and temperature sensors while performing environmental stress evaluations.
• Engage with suppliers during design reviews addressing tooling needs, process qualification steps, cost reduction strategies, and production ramp-up activities.
• Support integration efforts for direct-to-chip cooling architectures including cold plate designs at rack-level or chip-to-chiller configurations within high-density server environments.
• Contribute to long-term reliability risk mitigation by applying knowledge of manufacturing technologies related to coolant compatibility issues such as corrosion prevention strategies or contamination control measures.
