Engineering Manager- Cloud Service

Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers the unique opportunity to wear multiple hats as an architect, manager, and leader in the SaaS/IaaS space. The successful candidate will lead a growing team focused on building next-generation services for cloud security risk assessment and cloud-managed on-prem products. This is an exciting chance to work with complex, distributed, hybrid cloud systems that power risk insight services, providing customers with a multidimensional view of applications, devices, and users on their network.

What you'll do:

As an Engineering Manager, your primary role will be to manage, coach, and grow a team of high-performing individual contributors. You will provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the team while collaborating across organizational boundaries to ensure the creation of a shared roadmap and timely delivery of products/services. Your commitment to quality and code hygiene will be crucial in this role. You will also participate hands-on in technical designs and code development. Furthermore, you will build microservices and abstraction layers needed to make multi-cloud footprint low latency, cost-efficient, and developer-friendly.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Engineering Manager position brings over 10 years of experience building services/products with at least 2 years in a management role. They possess effective verbal and written communication skills and have demonstrable experience balancing business and engineering priorities. They are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to find and solve problems. Their programming skills include Python, Go, C/C++, among others. They have a good understanding of distributed systems, data-structures, and algorithms. They have a strong background in designing scalable services leveraged by millions of clients. Their experience extends to CI/CD environments, automation frameworks, and designing/building RESTful services. They also have knowledge of network security, SQL/NoSQL databases, authentication and authorization mechanisms.

• 10+ years of experience building services/products with 2+ years in a management role
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Experience balancing business and engineering priorities
• Comfortable with ambiguity and taking initiative to find and solve problems
• Programming in Python, Go, C/C++, etc.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, data-structures and algorithms
• Strong background in designing scalable services leveraged by millions of clients
• Experience with CI/CD environments, automation frameworks
