• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive database schemas, tables, user accounts, permissions, and security protocols to safeguard sensitive information.
• Monitor and maintain the health of database infrastructure by leveraging advanced tools such as autoscaling features, automated alerts, and real-time dashboards including Grafana, PMM, and CloudWatch.
• Ensure high levels of database reliability by conducting capacity planning, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues promptly, and resolving incidents efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Contribute actively to the evolution of database architecture by supporting business growth initiatives such as deployments into new regions or environments.
• Develop automation scripts using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline routine database administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Document all aspects of database systems and procedures thoroughly to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team and ensure compliance with best practices.
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to align database strategies with organisational goals while maintaining open channels for feedback and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in the database domain by participating in training sessions and industry forums relevant to your role.
