ME Lead & Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Keywords: Mechanical Engineering, Lead, Industrial Design, CAD Software, Thermal Simulation, Plastic Molding Processes Our client is expanding their team in Taipei and is seeking an experienced and innovative Mechanical Engineering Lead & Sr. Mechanical Engineer with a vision for industrial design. As our ME Lead & Sr. ME, you will play a crucial role in designing enclosures and accessories for our products.

What you'll do:

• Design mechanical components or assemblies with Solidworks modeling based on professional standards.
• Prepare engineering documents, specifications, DFx and technical reports.
• Verify mechanical design, mechanical drawing and solve technical problems.
• Provide solutions for engineering problems and take initiatives to lead and plan problem-solving activities.
• Create and maintain engineering documents required for project planning and product development gate approval review.
• Review mechanical design and assess manufacturability of new design.
• Analyze and verify mechanical design independently using scientific approaches such as mathematics, physics, prototyping, tolerance analysis, CAE, FEM, simulations, DOE etc.
• Control product BOM cost and related design schedule from a mechanical engineering perspective.
• Prepare mechanical engineering documents such as BOM, component specifications and technical reports, and support FMEA activities.
• Design fixture and calibration process for high precision mechanical assemblies.

What you bring:

• BS/MS of Mechanical Engineering
• [ME Lead] Minimum 10 years of mechanical design and 3 years technical lead experience in leading junior mechanical engineers.
• [Sr. ME] Over 5 years of mechanical design of plastic and sheet metal.
• Ability to design plastic housings for products such as smartphone and tablets.
• Understanding of manufacturing and mechanical production processes.
• Proficiency in using Mechanical CAD software. SolidWorks is our preferred CAD package.
• Expertise in creating detailed 2D drawings and performing tolerance calculations.
• Understanding of mold design, FAI and CPK measurements.
• The ability to design complete products from scratch.
• Solid experience in managing vendors and factories.
