Head of Operation

A leading fashion retail organisation seeks a Head of Operations in Taiwan to lead Finance and HR functions, optimise workflows, and drive operational excellence, compliance, and organisational success.

Key responsibilities:

As Head of Operations, you will lead Finance and HR departments, strengthen operational efficiency and compliance, and drive continuous improvement through effective team management and cross-functional collaboration.

• Oversee daily Finance and HR operations, managing work allocation, progress, quality, and team performance to ensure efficient and timely delivery
• Establish and maintain departmental SOPs, internal management policies, and performance-tracking mechanisms to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and accountability
• Lead accounting operations, including month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, annual budgeting, expense control, cash flow management, and payment processing
• Manage tax filings and external audits through coordination with external accountants, maintaining robust financial controls and compliance with Taiwan regulations and company policies
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee records, payroll, bonuses, benefits, attendance, performance reviews, training, employee relations, and talent development
• Ensure compliance with Taiwan labour laws and personal data protection requirements; coordinate with external legal and HR consultants, optimise workflows and system utilisation, strengthen cross-functional communication, reduce manual work and operational risks, and provide management reports on departmental progress, key issues, risks, and improvement recommendations

Candidate profile:

• Academic background or professional experience in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• Proven experience in department management or team leadership, with experience overseeing both Finance and HR teams highly desirable
• Comprehensive knowledge of Taiwan financial accounting standards, taxation rules, payroll systems, personnel administration practices, and relevant labour laws
• Strong capabilities in work allocation, performance metrics management, workflow optimisation, cross-functional coordination, and continuous process improvement
• Excellent communication, organisational planning, reporting, accountability, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in both Chinese and English preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements, with experience using management reporting tools to provide timely updates on progress, issues, risks, and recommendations
