A global tech-driven trading firm seeks a Data Team Lead in Taiwan to drive high-performance data infrastructure for large-scale, low-latency trading systems.

Key responsibilities:

As a Data Team Lead, you will architect scalable, reliable data systems, lead engineers, and drive automation and collaboration to support high-performance trading operations.

• Data Operations: Own daily data platform operations including capacity, cost, upgrades, deployments, and recovery drills to ensure high availability and low latency
• Data Collection: Design and manage multi-source ingestion (exchanges, vendors, internal systems), including parsing and resilient retry mechanisms
• Data Mining: Work with research teams to extract high-value features from structured and unstructured data, enabling reproducible analysis workflows
• Data Cleaning & Quality: Implement rule-based and ML-driven data quality checks with automated remediation and backfilling
• End-to-End Pipelines: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with scheduling, partitioning, schema evolution, and lineage for real-time and batch processing
• Reliability Engineering: Establish observability, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and anomaly detection to improve system reliability and reduce MTTR
• Security & Compliance: Enforce access control, encryption, auditing, and data governance to meet compliance standards
• Automation & Tooling: Implement IaC, CI/CD, data testing, and versioning to reduce manual effort and improve reliability
• Documentation & Knowledge: Maintain runbooks, knowledge bases, and data dictionaries to support onboarding and operational efficiency

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring experience building scalable data platforms, strong batch and streaming expertise, cloud-native and security-first skills, and the ability to mentor teams and communicate clearly.

• 5+ years in data engineering/backend infrastructure with 1–2+ years in leadership or mentoring roles (Tech Lead/Team Lead)
• Strong experience with batch and streaming systems, time-series/event data models, and efficient storage (e.g., columnar/TSDB)
• Proficient in a modern data stack (Python, Java/Scala, or Go) with hands-on tools for orchestration, messaging, and lakehouse/warehouse platforms
• Deep expertise in data quality, governance, and reliability engineering, including observability, monitoring, incident response, and MTTR reduction
• Strong cloud-native and infrastructure skills (Linux, AWS/GCP/on-prem, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) with the ability to communicate across engineering and business teams

Other requirements

• Experience with market data systems (exchange feeds, L1/L2, derivatives) and vendor integrations in trading/data-intensive environments
• Hands-on with data testing and observability tools (e.g., Great Expectations, DBT tests, OpenTelemetry, Monte Carlo) to ensure data quality, reliability, and traceability
• Strong grasp of low-latency system requirements (time alignment, backfills, edge cases) with effective English communication for cross-functional collaboration
