Data Engineering Team Lead

We are supporting a leading digital payments company in Taiwan in the search for a Data Engineering Team Lead. This role is ideal for an experienced data professional who thrives in high-scale environments and is ready to lead a fast-growing team. With over 3 billion monthly transactions and 6 million users, the company is scaling aggressively—and data is at the heart of that growth

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines

• Architect and implement data infrastructure across real-time and batch systems (cloud + on-premise)

• Define data architecture standards and oversee performance, security, and cost-efficiency improvements

• Collaborate with engineering, business, and product teams to design data models and support analytics

• Provide technical direction on new technologies and best practices in data engineering

• Take ownership of infrastructure planning, data platform lifecycle, and cross-platform integrations

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or mentorship role

• Strong backend and data pipeline development experience (Python, Scala, shell scripting, SQL)

• Familiar with distributed data processing and orchestration tools (e.g., Kafka, Airflow, PySpark, ClickHouse, BigQuery)

• Experience with both cloud (GCP, AWS) and on-premise data ecosystems

• Deep understanding of CDC, data lakes, data warehouse architecture, and Data Catalogs

• Solid communication skills and proven ability to collaborate across functions

• Passion for team-building and a track record of fostering high-performing teams
