What you'll do:

• Build and scale the internal engineering organisation by recruiting, mentoring, and guiding a high-performing team dedicated to delivering robust technology solutions.
• Take full ownership of technology strategy, product delivery timelines, platform operations, system architecture decisions, and security frameworks within the company.
• Establish development processes, engineering best practices, coding standards, and ensure adherence to quality benchmarks throughout all projects.
• Internalise ownership of existing platforms including source code management, infrastructure oversight, technical documentation maintenance, and preservation of institutional knowledge.
• Collaborate closely with product stakeholders to drive roadmap execution, ensuring timely feature releases while maintaining reliability and scalability across systems.
• Lead architectural decision-making regarding technology selection, AI workflow design, cloud infrastructure strategies, data isolation protocols, and security compliance initiatives.
• Drive SOC 2 compliance efforts as primary control owner for security governance processes within the engineering function.
• Cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and communal problem-solving.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader capable of resolving critical challenges while steering long-term technology strategy aligned with business objectives.

What you bring:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams of 3 or more members with end-to-end responsibility for product delivery in roles such as Team Lead or Engineering Manager.
• Exceptional ability to quickly understand existing systems and environments while taking ownership of technical assets including source code and documentation.
• Strong architectural judgement across technology selection, workflow design, scalability considerations, security boundaries, and system reliability requirements.
• Hands-on proficiency with Next.js, React, TypeScript as well as Python programming language for serverless architectures and cloud-native development.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI products/services with solid understanding of multi-model/multi-vendor API orchestration within production environments.
• Comfort operating in evolving startup settings where priorities shift rapidly; adaptability is essential for success in this role.
• Excellent English reading/writing skills enabling effective engagement with technical documentation related to AI models/APIs/engineering specifications.
• A portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing relevant technical projects is required to demonstrate practical expertise.
• Willingness to be highly hands-on during growth stages by taking ownership across both strategic planning and executional tasks.
• Resilient mindset with track record of delivering production-ready systems under pressure while maintaining focus on results.
