[Trading Company] Sr. LLM Engineer

Save job

A trading company in Taiwan seeks a Senior Large Language Model Engineer to build and deploy AI systems for low-latency financial trading in production environments.

Key responsibilities:

As a Sr. LLM Engineer, you will build and optimise LLM agents and RL systems for trading, turning model outputs into actionable signals with quant teams.

  • Co-design experiments with quants to convert model outputs into tradable signals, using offline/online backtesting and A/B testing
  • Build AI agents (RAG, tool use, planning) to enhance strategy research and trading execution efficiency
  • Apply prompt engineering, MoE, LoRA, quantisation, and distillation to optimise performance–cost trade-offs and reduce inference latency
  • Fine-tune and align models (SFT/DPO) on financial text (news, disclosures, earnings, social data) to improve event and sentiment understanding
  • Implement MLOps best practices (containerisation, CI/CD, feature/model versioning) to improve delivery speed and compliance
  • Track frontier AI research and lead internal knowledge sharing to guide model and architecture decisions

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring strong LLM engineering experience, production deployment skills, and experiment design capability.

  • M.S. or above in CS/EE/Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proficient with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and spec-driven, TDD workflows for rapid 0→1 development
  • 2+ years’ LLM experience using PyTorch/TensorFlow, including end-to-end training and fine-tuning
  • Strong knowledge of LLM ecosystem tools (e.g., LangGraph, Ollama, OpenAI SDK) for rapid prototyping and deployment
  • Strong experiment design, problem decomposition, and cross-team collaboration with focus on observability and operability
  • Effective communication in Mandarin and English, with ability to write technical documentation and present externally
  • Financial ML experience (e.g., prediction, sentiment analysis, factor modelling) or active participation in AI competitions/open source/research communities

About the company:

A global investment organisation operating across diversified asset strategies, focused on disciplined growth, long-term value creation, and data-driven decision-making. It offers a high-performance, collaborative environment with strong support for innovation, ownership, and continuous development.
