What you'll do:
As a Senior Process Design Kit Design Automation Engineer based in Hsinchu, you will play a pivotal role in developing robust PDKs that underpin successful chip manufacturing. Your day-to-day activities will involve creating technology files, simulation models, and design rule decks that align with foundry requirements. You will automate complex workflows using advanced scripting techniques to facilitate efficient layout generation and verification. - Create, validate, and manage Process Design Kits including technology files, simulation models, and comprehensive design rule decks tailored for specific foundry processes.
- Build scripts and develop tools that automate layout generation, verification, and characterisation workflows to enhance productivity across design teams.
- Design reusable parameterised device cells (p-cells) using scripting languages such as Cadence SKILL to streamline layout creation and improve efficiency.
- Implement and maintain physical verification decks by developing DRC/LVS rule sets utilising industry-standard tools like Cadence Pegasus, Siemens Calibre, or Synopsys ICV.
- Configure the EDA environment by managing tool installations, licenses, and providing technical support to design and layout engineers for smooth operations.
- Develop automated regression tests for quality assurance purposes to ensure accuracy of PDKs and reliability of the EDA environment throughout project cycles.
- Collaborate with process engineers, design teams, and EDA vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently while sharing experience and best practices with junior engineers.
- Prepare detailed documentation on PDK usage and design flows while delivering training sessions that foster knowledge transfer within multidisciplinary teams.
