About the Company Our client is a global semiconductor company dedicated to developing innovative semiconductor solutions across a broad range of applications. As the business continues to expand, they are looking for an experienced engineering leader to oversee Product Engineering and Test Engineering functions, driving product quality, manufacturing readiness, and operational excellence across global operations. This position offers the opportunity to lead international engineering teams, collaborate with global development and manufacturing organisations, and play a key role in bringing new semiconductor products into production.

What you'll do

As the Director of Product and Test Engineering, you will lead global engineering teams responsible for product qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production test development. Working closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams, you will ensure products transition efficiently from development into high-volume manufacturing while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead global Product Engineering and Test Engineering teams, driving technical excellence and operational performance.
  • Manage product engineering activities from silicon validation through manufacturing release and sustaining.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure successful transition into volume production.
  • Partner with design, manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to improve product readiness and execution.
  • Oversee product characterization, qualification, yield improvement, and production ramp activities.
  • Develop manufacturing strategies that improve product quality, operational efficiency, and overall cost competitiveness.
  • Lead production test development and continuous improvements in test coverage, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support customer issue resolution through structured technical analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establish engineering best practices and promote continuous process improvement across global teams.
  • Mentor engineering managers and technical leaders while building a high-performing engineering organisation.

What you bring

We're looking for an experienced semiconductor engineering leader with a strong background in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. You have successfully led global teams, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and can effectively balance engineering priorities with business objectives.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams within a global organisation.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor product development, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and production ramp activities.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies, product qualification, yield improvement, and manufacturing optimisation.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including design, quality, operations, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience driving technical issue resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English communication in an international working environment.
