Packaging Mechanical Engineer (Contractor)

About the role A technology company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Contractor to support advanced packaging and module development in Hsinchu. This role focuses on mechanical design, thermal-mechanical analysis, prototype execution, and cross-functional engineering support for next-generation products.

What you’ll do

• Perform mechanical design for package/module components using CAD tools
• Conduct thermal-mechanical simulations to validate design performance and reliability
• Design fixtures and support prototype build activities
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure manufacturability and assembly quality
• Manage ECOs, BOMs, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Coordinate with vendors for prototype fabrication and material sourcing
• Work closely with optical, electrical, packaging, and manufacturing teams
• Support product development from concept through prototype stage

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and thermal simulation
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
• Experience with ANSYS or equivalent simulation software
• Strong knowledge of materials, structural design, thermal management, and tolerance analysis
• Experience in packaging, optical modules, or precision assembly is a plus
• Good project coordination and communication skills
