About the Company Our client is a global semiconductor company seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer to support power management solutions for storage and memory applications. Based in Taipei, this position will work closely with customers and internal engineering teams throughout the product development cycle, from technical evaluation and design-in through debugging, qualification, and mass production. The role is well suited to engineers with a strong background in power electronics, PMIC applications, board-level debugging, and customer technical support, particularly within SSD, memory, or related computing applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for power management IC solutions used in SSD, memory, and related storage applications.

  • Work closely with customers to understand system requirements, evaluate power architectures, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

  • Support customer design-in activities from initial evaluation through product qualification and mass production.

  • Provide technical guidance on power circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout.

  • Review customer schematics and PCB layouts to identify potential power integrity, thermal, current sensing, or layout-related issues.

  • Troubleshoot board- and system-level issues involving power sequencing, transient response, thermal behaviour, stability, and load conditions.

  • Support applications involving DC/DC converters, buck/boost converters, LDOs, and power management ICs.

  • Provide technical support for power protection and backup power requirements in storage applications.

  • Conduct laboratory testing and reproduce customer-reported issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.

  • Work directly with customer hardware and system engineering teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Collaborate with internal Application Engineering, R&D, Product, and Marketing teams to communicate customer requirements and emerging application needs.

  • Translate customer feedback and system-level requirements into actionable input for future product development.

  • Prepare technical documentation and share application knowledge and troubleshooting findings across engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics, power supply design, application engineering, or field application engineering.

  • Strong understanding of power management architectures, including PMICs, buck converters, boost converters, LDOs, and related power solutions.

  • Experience supporting SSD, DRAM, memory, computing, or other board-level semiconductor applications is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with power sequencing, transient response, dynamic loads, voltage regulation, and system power requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with schematic review, PCB layout review, board bring-up, and system debugging.

  • Good understanding of switching power supply design and control methodologies.

  • Experience troubleshooting issues involving IC behaviour, passive components, thermal performance, stability, or system-level power conditions.

  • Ability to use laboratory equipment and structured debugging methodologies to reproduce and analyse customer issues.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with customer engineering teams and internal technical stakeholders.

  • Good written and spoken English.

Experience with storage power architectures, Power Loss Protection (PLP), JEDEC-related memory power requirements, or digital power management interfaces such as PMBus or I2C would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This role provides the opportunity to work directly with customers on advanced storage and memory applications while developing broad expertise across power management, system-level debugging, and semiconductor applications engineering.

You will have significant involvement throughout the customer development cycle and work closely with both customer engineering teams and internal product development organisations.

What's Next

If you have experience in power electronics or PMIC applications and enjoy solving system-level technical challenges directly with customers, we welcome your application.
