Working closely with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in bringing innovative semiconductor solutions from concept to production.

Senior Device Design Engineer

Location: Taiwan

A leading semiconductor company is seeking an experienced Device Design Engineer to join its growing R&D team. This role will focus on semiconductor device design, simulation, characterization, and product development activities for next-generation power and specialty semiconductor technologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Process Integration, Product Engineering, Layout Design, Reliability, and Manufacturing to drive technology development from concept through qualification and mass production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize semiconductor devices to achieve performance, reliability, and cost targets.

  • Perform device simulation, modeling, and characterization to support product development activities.

  • Utilize industry-standard simulation and analysis tools to evaluate device behavior and identify optimization opportunities.

  • Collaborate with process integration, product engineering, manufacturing, and reliability teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Support technology development, product qualification, and manufacturing ramp activities.

  • Conduct technical analysis, data review, and root cause investigations to address device-related challenges.

  • Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and project presentations for internal stakeholders.

  • Participate in customer-facing technical discussions and support product-related inquiries when required.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging semiconductor technologies to support future product innovation.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor device design, development, or technology engineering.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and electrical characteristics.

  • Experience with device simulation, modeling, and characterization methodologies.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication processes and technology development workflows.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent English communication skills are preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power semiconductor technologies or advanced device development.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard simulation, modeling, and analysis tools.

  • Experience supporting new product introduction, qualification, or manufacturing ramp activities.

  • Knowledge of reliability, failure analysis, or product engineering methodologies.

  • Experience supporting automotive, industrial, or high-reliability applications is advantageous.
