Market Development Manager
A leading global organisation seeks a Market Development Manager to drive innovation and business growth within the datacenter and high-performance computing sectors. You will leverage your expertise in market development, customer engagement, and strategic relationships.
Key responsibilities:
As a Market Development Manager, you will play a critical role in identifying emerging trends, building strategic relationships, and delivering tailored material solutions that address complex challenges in the datacenter and high-performance computing industries.
- Engage hyperscale customers to capture system-level requirements and translate them into plastic and advanced material solutions for thermal, mechanical, and structural applications
- Build and manage strategic relationships across Tier-1 OEM/ODM supply chains, supporting collaboration from early concept development through mass production
- Develop and execute go-to-market and market expansion strategies in datacenter and HPC sectors, driving profitable growth through VOC-driven product development and material specification
- Partner with R&D and product teams to define and advance new material platforms aligned with emerging trends such as liquid cooling, high power density systems, and advanced interconnect technologies
- Lead opportunity identification and cross-functional execution, defining CTQs, supporting new business development, and aligning sales, marketing, and technical teams to accelerate revenue growth
- Manage customer relationships and executive engagements, conduct market and sales calls, utilise customer-centric tools (scorecards, VOC, EVE), and convert insights into actionable sales pipelines
- Conduct market intelligence and strategic planning by analysing customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends to shape innovation, product roadmap, and corporate growth strategy
Candidate profile:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing strategy roles, technical acumen rooted in scientific education, and proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline
- 5–10 years of relevant market experience with strong project, time, and priority management capabilities
- Self-motivated, results-driven professional with a strong ownership mindset and drive for success
- Strong customer-centric approach with solid business acumen and proven ability to build new strategic relationships
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a structured problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all organisational levels, both internal and external, with a hands-on, adaptable working style when required
