Public Affairs Manager

A leading global medical technology company is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to strengthen its corporate reputation, manage external communications, and engage key stakeholders in Taiwan.

Key responsibilities:

As Public Affairs Manager in Taiwan, you will execute comprehensive public affairs strategies that align with business objectives and enhance corporate reputation.

  • Execute proactive and reactive media relations strategies, manage journalist relationships, handle media inquiries, and deliver bilingual press releases and communications materials
  • Coordinate media activities including interviews, press conferences, agency collaboration, and media monitoring with reporting and analysis of coverage
  • Develop and support patient advocacy initiatives, including engagement with patient organisations, healthcare foundations, and patient education and storytelling programmes
  • Support government affairs activities by engaging policymakers, industry associations, and healthcare stakeholders, while tracking policy developments and external engagement
  • Manage issues and crisis communications, including risk monitoring, response planning, stakeholder advisory, and post-issue analysis and improvement recommendations

Candidate profile:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience across public affairs disciplines particularly in medical devices. Your profile includes:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in public affairs, communications, government affairs, patient advocacy, healthcare communications, or healthcare marketing
  • Proven track record in media relations, government affairs, stakeholder engagement, and crisis or issues management within regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of Taiwan’s healthcare system, policy landscape, and regulatory environment, ideally gained within multinational organisations
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree or above with willingness to travel up to 20% within Taiwan for stakeholder meetings, events, and external engagements
