Plant Manager

A leading international chemicals manufacturing company is seeking a Plant Manager to lead and oversee the operations of its production site. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned operations leader with extensive experience managing cross-functional teams, delivering on performance metrics, and driving a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operations Leadership

    • Manage the end-to-end site operations including Production, Quality, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), Maintenance, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Scheduling.

    • Ensure seamless execution of the manufacturing strategy, aligning with global standards and performance systems such as standard work processes and continuous improvement frameworks.

  2. Performance Management & Delivery

    • Set performance objectives and drive the delivery of key metrics across safety, service, cost, quality, and efficiency.

    • Regularly analyze site performance and initiate actions for improvement in reliability, productivity, and sustainability.

  3. Cost and Resource Management

    • Oversee fixed and variable manufacturing costs (FMC & VMC), ensuring alignment with regional and global targets.

    • Lead projects aimed at optimizing cost-efficiency and supporting strategic business goals.

  4. Culture & Talent Development

    • Foster a strong site culture focused on accountability, professionalism, and continuous development.

    • Mentor and develop the site leadership team, promote internal talent growth, and build succession pipelines.

  5. HSE & Risk Management

    • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

    • Proactively manage risks and hazards related to personnel, assets, and the local community.

  6. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as the primary representative of the site to both internal functions and external parties such as government bodies, associations, and local communities.

    • Maintain a strong “license to operate” through effective community engagement and regulatory compliance.

  7. Strategic Communication

    • Cascade business and manufacturing strategies to the site team.

    • Provide feedback and insights to upper management to support alignment and informed decision-making.

  8. Project & Change Management

    • Implement best practices and corporate excellence initiatives across the site.

    • Lead or support transformation projects in alignment with regional or global business objectives.
