What you'll do:
- Monitor and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), antivirus solutions, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms on a daily basis to ensure robust protection of plant networks.
- Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments, manage security patches, and review security configurations for critical information assets as well as Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
- Perform first-level monitoring of cybersecurity incidents, including initial response actions such as containment, evidence collection, and assisting supervisors with incident reporting procedures.
- Deliver engaging cybersecurity awareness training sessions for both employees and management, incorporating general security education alongside social engineering simulation exercises.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive documentation, records, and supporting evidence required for internal and external cybersecurity audits.
- Carry out daily and weekly reviews of security logs while monitoring activities to ensure timely incident response in line with established KPIs.
- Maintain high standards of vulnerability remediation coverage and ensure antivirus updates are consistently applied across all plant endpoints and servers.
- Support the completion of annual cybersecurity awareness training programmes for all staff members within scheduled timelines.
- Participate in at least 12 hours of professional or competency-based cybersecurity training each year to stay current with evolving threats and best practices.
What you bring:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, Electronics or a related field provides you with the foundational knowledge needed for this role.
- At least two years of practical experience in network administration, system operations or technical support within cybersecurity ensures you can handle complex environments confidently.
- Hands-on experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) environments—especially within power plants using DCS, SCADA or PLC systems—is highly desirable for this position.
- Possession of at least one recognised cybersecurity professional certification or competency training certificate (such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, ISO/IEC 27001 Internal Auditor) demonstrates your commitment to industry standards.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001 certification is highly preferred; if you do not already hold this qualification, you should be willing to obtain it after joining the company.
- Proven ability to conduct vulnerability assessments, manage security patches effectively, and review configurations for both IT assets and ICS environments is essential.
- Experience performing first-level incident monitoring and response—including containment measures and evidence collection—will help you excel in this role.
- Strong communication skills enable you to deliver clear cybersecurity awareness training sessions tailored for diverse audiences within the organisation.
- Attention to detail when preparing documentation for audits ensures compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
- A proactive approach towards continuous learning is demonstrated by completing at least 12 hours of professional cybersecurity training annually.
