What you'll do:
- Continuously enhance enterprise security strategies by assessing operational environments and adapting baselines to evolving threats and business needs.
- Design, establish, and refine comprehensive information security management frameworks, policies, and processes that align with industry best practices.
- Drive the implementation of security policies into daily operations, ensuring improved maturity levels across all departments within the organisation.
- Oversee the deployment, operation, maintenance, and optimisation of critical security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, managed detection and response platforms, antivirus tools, and endpoint detection and response technologies.
- Adjust protection mechanisms based on thorough risk assessments and current threat intelligence to ensure optimal defence against emerging risks.
- Operate ELK or SIEM platforms for effective log normalisation, security data processing, alerting mechanism optimisation, and incident analysis.
- Lead proactive incident response efforts including investigation, remediation activities, simulation exercises, and post-incident improvement planning.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments for websites, systems, and network environments; analyse findings; provide actionable remediation recommendations; and follow up on resolution progress.
- Perform regular penetration testing, source code reviews, SOC monitoring activities, and email security management to identify weaknesses before they can be exploited.
- Educate teams on social engineering attack methods while developing robust defence strategies to mitigate human-centric threats.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing AWS cloud environments with a focus on secure configuration and monitoring.
- Advanced proficiency in Linux system operation and administration within enterprise settings.
- Comprehensive understanding of AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) concepts across Windows/Linux platforms.
- Solid grasp of networking protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, Proxy services as well as related infrastructure components.
- Proven track record deploying and optimising firewalls (FW), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), managed detection/response (MDR), antivirus (AV), endpoint detection/response (EDR).
- Experience conducting vulnerability scanning using industry-standard tools coupled with strong analytical skills for interpreting results.
- Ability to perform log normalisation tasks efficiently while creating effective custom alert rules within SIEM platforms such as ELK.
- History of independently planning, executing, and delivering successful security projects without heavy supervision or detailed guidance.
- Background working in software companies or product-based organisations where you have developed policies or established governance frameworks from scratch.
- Capacity to clearly present real-world project achievements during interviews—including context setting, methodology explanation, tool selection rationale, challenge resolution approaches, and quantifiable outcomes.
