A leading international technology company is seeking a Value Added Services Engineer to join its remote team in Taipei, Taiwan.

This opportunity is ideal for telecommunications and network operations professionals looking to contribute to a globally connected organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in supporting advanced network solutions while enjoying flexible working arrangements and strong career development opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Customer Network Operations teams to support the deployment, administration, maintenance, and ongoing operation of network solutions
  • Diagnose and resolve network equipment, software, and infrastructure issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Recommend, implement, and support configuration enhancements to optimise system performance and reliability
  • Perform software maintenance upgrades, system updates, and other operational services across network devices and platforms
  • Proactively monitor system health, KPIs, logs, alarms, and hardware/software performance, responding promptly to incidents and service disruptions
  • Analyse and troubleshoot critical application and network traffic using diagnostic and monitoring tools, while adhering to customer change management and maintenance procedures
  • Lead cross-functional investigations to resolve complex issues, drive preventative measures, and ensure effective case management through to resolution, including escalation to Level 2 support when required
  • Provide consultative guidance, mentor junior team members, and contribute to knowledge sharing and quality review initiatives across the team

Candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Native-level Mandarin Chinese proficiency with strong communication skills
  • Strong expertise in Unix-based operating systems, particularly Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies including VMware, KVM, OpenStack, and automation tools such as Ansible
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud), containerisation, and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Swarm, and Jenkins
  • Proven knowledge of advanced virtualisation concepts such as NUMA, SR-IOV, PCI Passthrough, and Virtio
  • Good understanding of Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), including MANO and ONAP frameworks
  • Proficiency in scripting and development using Python, Perl, JavaScript, HTML5, HTTP, Ajax, and REST APIs
  • Experience with data modelling, database administration (Vertica, SQL, PostgreSQL), and network traffic monitoring within telecommunications, ISP, or cable internet environments
