Food Safety & Compliance Leader

A well-established retailer in Taiwan seeks a Food Safety and Compliance Leader to oversee food safety compliance, lead audits, and support sustainability and team development.

Key responsibilities:

As a Food Safety and Compliance Leader, you will ensure food safety compliance, lead audits, support sustainability, manage risks, and train teams to drive continuous improvement.

  • Monitor market food safety requirements aligned with product/range strategy and conduct horizon scanning for emerging risks
  • Develop and implement risk-based food safety compliance plans, standards, and quality management systems (QMS)
  • Lead audits, investigations, corrective actions, and manage non-compliance escalation, including recalls and sales stops
  • Provide technical expertise on food safety, regulations, ingredients, and packaging, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards
  • Collaborate with IFSTW and local authorities, support sustainability initiatives, and ensure effective crisis and risk management

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring food service experience, strong food safety and QA knowledge, effective English communication, and strong coordination, training, and risk management skills.

  • 5+ years’ experience in food service, with strong knowledge of food quality and national food safety standard
  • Advanced understanding of food regulations, including ingredients, labelling, and supplier certification requirements
  • Experience in developing and executing action plans, with background in food safety audit, quality control, or food science
  • Proficient English communication skills (reading/writing strong; speaking/listening - intermediate), with English training support provided
  • MS Office literate, with strong academic background (Bachelor’s/Master’s degree)
