We are looking for a Structure Designer to join a Design Engineering team, focusing on protective structural packaging solutions for large-scale equipment and heavy-duty products. The role covers the full design process, including on-site customer measurements, 3D/2D structural design, material and reinforcement evaluation, prototyping, testing, and design optimization prior to mass production. The successful candidate will help ensure the safety and stability of high-value products throughout transportation and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design heavy-duty structural packaging and protection solutions, including 3D models, 2D engineering drawings, BOMs, and related design documentation.
  • Participate in packaging testing and validation, including drop, vibration, stacking, and other transportation-related tests.
  • Conduct on-site measurements at customer facilities and evaluate product dimensions, handling requirements, loading/unloading conditions, and transportation environments.
  • Translate customer and transportation requirements into practical structural design specifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to evaluate design manufacturability, prototype development, and sample acceptance.
  • Evaluate materials, structural reinforcement, and protection mechanisms to optimize packaging performance and reliability.
  • Drive design improvements from initial concept through prototyping, validation, and pre-production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical/structural design or heavy-duty packaging design.
  • Proficient in 3D parametric CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Inventor, NX, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
  • Experience designing for large-scale equipment, heavy-duty protective packaging, or protective fixtures.
  • Understanding of structural load, transportation conditions, and mechanical protection principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills with the ability to work independently.
