Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with colleagues from various departments as you guide your team through each phase of product development. You will be instrumental in shaping project strategies, resolving technical challenges swiftly, and ensuring that every aspect of the design process aligns with rigorous corporate standards. • Collaborate directly with marketing and sales teams to review new business opportunities and develop comprehensive engineering cost analyses based on detailed product scopes.
• Engage with purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, process engineering, electroplating specialists, suppliers, and other essential groups as part of a cross-functional team dedicated to developing innovative products and solutions.
• Contribute significantly to the design, development, and validation of connector solutions across various applications including board-level, cable assemblies, power distribution, high-speed data transfer, and panel mount products.
• Take a hands-on approach to identifying challenges during new product development phases or when quality concerns arise, ensuring swift resolution through effective problem-solving.
• Uphold all corporate engineering standards by maintaining meticulous documentation practices, managing files efficiently, modelling parts accurately, and conducting thorough part simulations.
• Independently plan and schedule daily tasks while utilising formal education and sound judgement to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
• Manage both technical specialists and non-technical staff members within the team by providing clear direction, encouragement, and support throughout project lifecycles.
• Demonstrate the ability to quickly identify issues as they emerge during projects, develop actionable plans for resolution, and execute these plans effectively.
• Delegate projects appropriately among team members while overseeing progress closely; step in to provide guidance or assistance whenever necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
• Establish meaningful metrics for the group that drive continuous improvement in performance and foster a culture of accountability.
