What you'll do:

As a Product Design Engineer based in New Taipei City, you will immerse yourself in the full lifecycle of connector solution development—from initial concept discussions with marketing and sales through detailed design work alongside manufacturing experts. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as you transform customer requirements into practical designs that are both innovative and manufacturable. You will be responsible for creating detailed cost analyses, supporting rigorous validation processes, troubleshooting technical issues as they arise during development or production stages, and ensuring all work adheres to established engineering standards. Success in this role comes from your ability to communicate effectively across departments, manage multiple priorities independently, and apply your technical expertise creatively to solve real-world challenges.

• Collaborate directly with marketing and sales teams to review project opportunities and develop detailed engineering cost analyses based on defined product scopes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Work as part of a cross-functional team including purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, process engineering, electroplating specialists, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to develop comprehensive product solutions.
• Contribute significantly to the design, development, and validation of various connector products such as board connectors, cable assemblies, power connectors, high-speed interconnects, and panel mount solutions.
• Engage hands-on in identifying technical challenges during new product development phases or when addressing quality concerns in existing products.
• Ensure strict adherence to all corporate engineering standards by maintaining accurate documentation, managing files efficiently, modelling parts precisely, and conducting thorough part simulations.
• Independently plan and schedule daily tasks while developing effective solutions to complex problems using formal education and sound judgement.
• Support the transition of products from development into manufacturing by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting expertise as needed.
• Participate actively in design reviews and validation testing processes to ensure products meet performance requirements and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with suppliers to evaluate materials and components for suitability in new designs or improvements to existing products.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement within the engineering function to enhance efficiency and product quality.
