What you'll do:

As a Thermal Engineer based in Taipei, you will immerse yourself in the design and optimisation of sophisticated thermal solutions tailored for server and storage systems. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting thorough CFD analyses to assess airflow patterns and heat dissipation strategies, performing precise measurements to validate theoretical models, and refining fan control algorithms for improved operational efficiency. You will work hand-in-hand with diverse teams across engineering disciplines to ensure that every aspect of the design meets stringent performance standards. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will engage in research on new cooling technologies that can be leveraged for future products. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also a commitment to collaborative problem-solving, clear communication of complex concepts, and active participation in knowledge-sharing sessions. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, efficiency, and innovation of the organisation’s product portfolio.

  • Design and optimise thermal solutions for server and storage systems by applying industry best practices and collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Conduct comprehensive CFD analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of proposed thermal and flow solutions, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Perform detailed thermal and flow measurements using advanced tools to validate designs and support ongoing improvements.
  • Engage actively in the optimisation of fan control algorithms to enhance system efficiency and reliability across various applications.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of thermal solutions.
  • Research emerging cooling technologies and trends to inform future product development and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Document findings, methodologies, and results clearly for internal knowledge sharing and external reporting as required.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on progress, share insights, and address challenges collaboratively.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by analysing thermal issues in prototypes or production units and recommending effective solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing overall system performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
