Senior Packaging Design Engineer

A leading global electronics manufacturer seeks a Senior Packaging Design Engineer in Taiwan to develop and optimise packaging solutions that enhance product protection, manufacturing efficiency, cost performance, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end packaging design and development from concept to mass production, delivering innovative, manufacturable, and customer-focused solutions
• Own packaging specifications, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation, ensuring design accuracy, compliance, and lifecycle traceability
• Drive packaging optimisation and industrialisation to improve manufacturability, logistics efficiency, cost performance, and sustainability
• Define and execute packaging validation strategies, including transportation, drop, vibration, compression, and reliability testing, to ensure product protection
• Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, supplier development, and second-source qualification to strengthen packaging quality and supply resilience
• Partner with customers, suppliers, laboratories, and manufacturing teams to implement packaging solutions, resolve technical issues, and support successful product launches

Candidate profile:

• Experience in packaging design engineering within manufacturing, supporting products from development through mass production
• Proficiency in CAD, technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation, with expertise in structural integrity and packaging materials, including corrugated cardboard, blister packaging, and EPS
• Experience in packaging validation, including drop, vibration, compression, and transportation testing, with strong root cause analysis skills
• Proven ability to optimise packaging designs through material selection, cost reduction, process improvement, and sustainability initiatives
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver packaging solutions and support manufacturing
• Strong communication and analytical skills, with experience in supplier development, quality improvement, and manufacturing support
