Sr. Material Engineer - Consumer Electronics

A global consumer electronics company seeks a Senior Material Engineer to drive innovative product development, advancing material performance and customer impact at global scale.

Key responsibilities:

As a Senior Material Engineer, you will lead material innovation and CMF projects, driving product quality, manufacturability, and successful commercialisation through cross-functional collaboration.

• Drive CMF innovation and technology projects that enhance product differentiation, sustainability, inclusivity, customisation, and customer experience across global consumer electronics products
• Partner with Product Marketing, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and CMF Design teams to deliver end-to-end CMF engineering solutions, including materials selection, DFM, GD&T, SPC, DOE, process development, qualification, and technical problem-solving
• Lead CMF process trials and industrialisation activities across painting, printing, plating, and related technologies, ensuring manufacturability, production readiness, and successful new product introductions
• Manage relationships with molding and CMF suppliers to drive process optimisation, quality performance, and seamless ramp-up to mass production
• Provide technical consulting, training, and cross-functional support while contributing to supplier audits, new technology adoption, and cost-reduction initiatives that strengthen operational efficiency and product competitiveness

To excel in this role, you bring strong materials engineering expertise, CMF development experience, supplier management capabilities, and a collaborative approach to driving product innovation and manufacturing excellence.

• Proven experience in CMF, materials engineering, or product development within consumer electronics or advanced manufacturing environments
• Hands-on expertise in CMF engineering, product concept development, and engineering design quality across the full lifecycle from definition and development to qualification and mass production
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Design, Marketing, Operations, and Engineering to translate concepts into manufacturable products
• Strong knowledge of material technologies, including plastics, metals, composites, flexible materials, and related manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to systematically resolve technical challenges and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders
