3D Lead Design
A prestigious high jewellery house seeks a 3D Lead Designer to lead production-ready jewellery modelling, mentor designers, and shape globally recognised luxury collections in Taiwan.
Key responsibilities:
As a 3D Lead Designer, you will create production-ready high jewellery models, solve complex technical challenges, and mentor designers on exclusive luxury collections.
3D Modelling & Technical Execution
- Create production-ready 3D jewellery models from 2D concepts, preserving artistic vision while ensuring structural precision and manufacturability
- Design and refine intricate hardware, settings, hinges, clasps, and articulated components while resolving technical and material constraints
- Prepare high-quality files for 3D printing and casting, ensuring accuracy, scalability, watertight geometry, and efficient design revisions
Cross-Stage Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with design, wax, and production teams to align artistic intent with technical feasibility throughout development stages
- Identify and communicate structural, material, and production risks early to support efficient project execution and premium craftsmanship
- Contribute expert 3D and engineering insights during design reviews, ensuring wearability, durability, and production excellence
Technical Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead technical standards within the 3D team by mentoring designers, improving workflows, and maintaining modelling best practices and reusable libraries
- Drive innovation by exploring advanced 3D printing, AI-assisted design, and emerging modelling technologies to elevate craftsmanship and efficiency
- Support continuous process improvement through tooling recommendations, SOP documentation, and optimisation of design-to-production workflows
Candidate profile:
To excel in this role, you bring strong 3D modelling expertise, technical precision, adaptability, and a passion for luxury craftsmanship.
- Bachelor’s degree in design, architecture, dental technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Fluent Mandarin with working English for technical documentation and external communication
- Minimum 5 years' 3D modelling experience in jewellery, product, dental, or precision-craft industries
- Expert proficiency in Rhino and ZBrush with experience in 3D printing and casting preparation workflows
- Strong understanding of wearable ergonomics, mechanical structures, fit tolerances, and stone-setting geometry
- Ability to translate complex 2D concepts into precise, production-ready 3D models while balancing creativity and feasibility
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable collaborating across technical and creative teams under iterative environments
