What you'll do:
- Lead the development of UEFI drivers and applications within the EDK2 framework, focusing on Intel/AMD-based server architectures to deliver reliable firmware solutions.
- Design and optimise Inter-Processor Communication mechanisms such as MCTP over MMBI/I2C/USB or eSPI interfaces, enabling secure and efficient data exchange between x86 hosts and security processors.
- Drive feature validation by executing comprehensive tests and ensuring BIOS-side compliance for all management and security features including I3C_MNG, I3C_DBG, and data-filtering.
- Take charge of debugging and triaging low-level firmware issues, particularly those involving handshake processes with Intel/AMD/Arm CPU platforms.
- Work collaboratively with ODM/OEM partners to guarantee adherence to industry standards like ACPI, PCIe, and SMBIOS while fostering innovation in Secure Boot and Platform Firmware Resilience.
- Architect Host-to-BMC communication interfaces that seamlessly integrate security features into the x86 EDK2 codebase.
- Ensure that all firmware developments meet rigorous quality standards through thorough validation methodologies and remote debugging tools.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, sharing your expertise in hardware-anchored security protocols such as TPM2.0, NIST SP 800-193, Secure Flash update, and firmware integrity checks.
- Participate actively in cross-functional teams to align firmware development with broader organisational goals related to AI-enhanced security processing.
- Document all development processes meticulously to facilitate knowledge sharing across the team.
What you bring:
- Over eight years of proven experience developing UEFI firmware for server platforms using C/C++, demonstrating deep technical proficiency.
- Comprehensive understanding of x86 architecture including ACPI, PCIe, VGA, memory management, enabling effective troubleshooting across diverse environments.
- Hands-on expertise in Host-to-BMC communication protocols with demonstrated ability to resolve SMBIOS/ACPI table handoffs for remote management scenarios.
- Extensive knowledge of hardware-anchored security measures such as Secure Boot, TPM2.0 implementation, NIST SP 800-193 compliance, Secure Flash updates, and firmware integrity checks.
- Practical experience developing EDK2 firmware solutions tailored for high-performance server platforms.
- Proficiency with remote debugging tools coupled with strong skills in firmware validation methodologies ensures robust product delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams while supporting junior engineers’ growth.
- Ability to work dependably under pressure in environments where rapid response is required without compromising quality or inclusivity.
- Preferred: Experience developing CRB (Customer Reference Board) features for Intel/AMD server platforms enhances your suitability for this role.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Redfish or MCTP/PLDM interactions within UEFI environments as well as UEFI-level interactions specific to AI servers.
