Technical Planning Lead

An organisation seeks a Technical Planning Lead to drive R&D innovation, shape future technology roadmaps, and influence executive-level decisions across emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities:

As a Technical Planning Lead, you will identify emerging technologies, drive innovation initiatives, and shape future product strategies.

• Monitor global trends in semiconductors, AI, 6G, satellite communications, and sensing technologies to identify innovation opportunities
• Analyse competitors, industry ecosystems, and emerging technologies, delivering actionable market and technology insights
• Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to evaluate technical feasibility, scalability, and commercial viability
• Partner with engineering, product, and supply chain teams to transform technology strategies into market-ready products
• Engage with industry forums, academic networks, and technology communities to gather insights and strengthen competitiveness
• Coordinate supplier resources and support product architecture design, technology integration, and mass-production readiness
• Develop strategic technology proposals and provide executive recommendations on innovation, investment priorities, and long-term technology roadmaps

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring expertise in product architecture, technology strategy, and innovation-driven decision-making.

• Master’s or PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with strong knowledge of computer architecture
• 8+ years of experience in semiconductors, consumer electronics, or advanced R&D, including large-scale product architecture and commercialisation
• 5+ years of hands-on hardware development experience across boards, modules, systems, cooling, interconnects, or related technologies
• Strong understanding of AI infrastructure, data centre technologies, and emerging industry trends, with the ability to generate strategic insights
• Proven track record of leading multiple product development projects and coordinating suppliers through production delivery
• Sharp analytical skills to assess technology trends, identify investment opportunities, and make data-driven strategic decisions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and connect technology strategy with business value
