What you'll do:

  • Formulate detailed RFI and RFQ specifications as well as comprehensive design proposals tailored for ODM and OEM customers in the networking sector.
  • Lead the conceptualisation, disassembly analysis, tolerance assessment, and interference inspection of network communication mechanisms to ensure robust architecture.
  • Oversee mould reviews across plastic, sheet metal, and casting processes while addressing heat management challenges by selecting appropriate thermal solutions such as heat transfer, convection, or radiation methods.
  • Conduct thorough factory assembly design reviews to guarantee manufacturability and quality standards are met throughout the production process.
  • Analyse defects identified during customer feedback or trial production phases, implementing effective improvements at each stage to enhance product reliability.
  • Optimise product cost structures by selecting competitive materials and simplifying manufacturing processes without compromising performance or quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering and antenna specialists to deliver integrated solutions for complex network devices.
  • Engage directly with international customers to understand requirements, present technical proposals, and coordinate project milestones effectively.
  • Mentor and guide team members by sharing expertise in mechanical engineering best practices within the context of network communication products.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery of components that meet stringent specification criteria.

What you bring:

  • A minimum of seven years’ hands-on experience working with networking products, such as access point, router, switch, 5G CPE, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage interactions with foreign customers including clear communication skills for presentations and coordination across multiple departments.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing teams for at least five years within a mechanical engineering or related technical field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product specifications including cost structures, development timelines and supplier management protocols relevant to networking hardware.
  • Expertise in formulating technical documentation such as RFI/RFQ specifications along with strong analytical skills for defect analysis during various production stages.
  • Experience conducting detailed reviews of moulds (plastic/metal/casting) as well as evaluating heat dissipation techniques suitable for high-performance electronic devices.
  • Ability to optimise material selection processes while streamlining manufacturing workflows for improved cost efficiency without sacrificing quality or reliability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams both locally and internationally.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in training initiatives or mentoring junior engineers within the organisation.
