What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and optimise USB4, PCIe, or other high-speed I/O firmware as well as Windows drivers to ensure robust performance across multiple platforms.
- Participate actively in the architecture definition of USB host controllers, handling protocol implementation and system-level performance tuning to achieve optimal results.
- Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and validation teams to guarantee seamless integration between different system components.
- Debug complex signal integrity issues and protocol-level challenges by performing thorough root cause analysis that spans both hardware and software domains.
- Contribute significantly to the bring-up process and productisation of high-speed interface solutions intended for mass production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, set priorities, and deliver solutions that meet stringent quality standards.
- Utilise advanced debugging tools such as protocol analysers and signal integrity instruments to identify issues quickly and efficiently.
- Document design decisions, test results, and troubleshooting steps clearly to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
- Support validation activities by providing technical guidance during system testing phases.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in high-speed I/O technologies to continuously enhance product capabilities.
What you bring:
- Bachelor of CS/EE or related Engineering field
- At least eight years of hands-on experience working with windows driver, high-speed I/O technologies such as USB4, PCIe, or Thunderbolt in demanding engineering environments.
- Proven proficiency in C programming specifically for firmware development or kernel driver implementation on Windows or Linux platforms.
- Deep familiarity with USB host controller architectures, including protocol stack management and low-level register programming techniques.
- Comprehensive understanding of how hardware integrates with software at the SoC level, particularly regarding peripheral interface design.
- Practical experience using protocol analysers or signal debugging tools like LeCroy or USB analysers is considered advantageous for this position.
- Background working within IC design houses or participating in platform bring-up projects is highly preferred due to the complexity of tasks involved.
- Strong English reading and writing skills are essential; confidence in engaging in technical discussions across diverse teams is required.
