Head of Accounting

Save job

As Head of Accounting, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the direction of the finance function during an exciting phase of organisational growth. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you guiding a talented team through complex accounting operations while ensuring compliance with both local regulations and international standards. You will work collaboratively across departments—locally and globally—to deliver insightful analyses that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for the local management team, providing expert guidance on all financial matters and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Develop and nurture the local accounting team by managing performance, setting clear goals, delivering ongoing training, and fostering strong interpersonal relationships built on trust and collaboration.
  • Coach and mentor finance professionals with a focus on customer needs, promoting a culture of cooperation and shared achievement within the department.
  • Identify opportunities for business improvement by engaging with stakeholders to enhance performance, efficiency, or results through data-driven insights. Deliver accurate data, key metrics, and comprehensive analyses to support decision-making processes for senior management and respond promptly to ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Champion global process standardisation initiatives while ensuring robust internal controls are maintained in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Support major projects led by the CFO organisation such as legal structural changes, mergers and acquisitions activities, or other strategic initiatives requiring financial expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments locally and globally—including FP&A and Treasury—to provide financial insights that inform business operations while serving as a reliable point of contact for financial inquiries.

Key Requirements:

  • University or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance is required to ensure foundational knowledge in core financial principles.
  • Extensive experience—ideally 10+ years—in accounting roles within manufacturing companies or similar industries provides valuable sector-specific insight.
  • At least 15 years’ proven track record in finance leadership positions within international environments demonstrates your ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of both local Taiwanese GAAP as well as international accounting standards ensures regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Background in Big4 audit firms or CPA certification is highly desirable for added technical proficiency.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enable you to build trust-based relationships at all levels of the organisation while nurturing team cohesion. Proficiency with modern accounting systems (such as SAP S4 Hana) and reporting software (like Tagetik) is preferred for seamless integration into existing processes.
  • A positive attitude combined with resilience under pressure ensures consistent delivery even when managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

About the Organization:

This organisation stands out for its commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where every individual’s contribution is valued. With a strong emphasis on collaboration across borders—both locally in Taiwan and internationally—you’ll benefit from exposure to best practices drawn from around the world.
