Director of Engineering

A start-up focusing on home security software service is looking for a Head of Engineering to join their business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the company's job-grading system
• Make responsibilities and qualifications clear for each level of engineers and engineering managers
• Set goals and conduct regular performance reviews for teams and individuals in order to achieve continuous self-improvement on skills and mentalities
• Define the best practice with/for the team to facilitate agile development as well as the delivery of quality results, including specifications, coding conventions, code reviews, unit tests, risk assessments, auto build/test...etc.
• Manage projects by setting high-level requirements, goals and time line
• Human resource & talent acquisition

Key Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Experience working on organisational human resources activities
• Familiar with software engineering best practices
• Good understanding of agile methodologies
