What you'll do:
As Legal Counsel, you will become an integral part of the executive leadership structure in Taipei. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with senior management from four prominent brands as well as key support functions. You will be responsible for reviewing contracts, advising on distributor agreements, product-related matters, and HR cases. Your ability to deliver insightful internal training sessions will help foster a culture of compliance throughout the organisation. By overseeing the full contract process—from drafting to execution—you will ensure that all documentation meets rigorous standards. Your role also includes analysing legal records for accuracy, offering practical consultation on complex issues, monitoring legislative changes, and supporting cross-functional teams with reliable guidance. With an intern assisting compliance tasks separately, you can focus on delivering high-quality legal counsel in a truly international setting.
- Provide expert legal advice and support on all matters related to contracts, distributors, products, and human resources cases, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including agreements, memoranda, and internal policies to safeguard organisational interests.
- Deliver engaging internal training sessions to enhance legal awareness among staff members across different departments.
- Collaborate closely with managing directors of four distinct brands as well as heads of supporting functions, most of whom are international professionals requiring clear communication in English.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle from initial review through execution, tracking progress and ensuring timely completion of all necessary documentation.
- Conduct thorough analysis of legal records and related documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Offer consultation services regarding legal clauses and provide practical solutions for complex issues arising within the business.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and proactively update internal stakeholders on potential impacts or required actions.
- Work alongside an intern who supports compliance activities, maintaining clear boundaries between legal counsel responsibilities and compliance oversight.
- Support cross-functional teams by providing dependable guidance on regulatory requirements affecting daily operations.

- Possess at least five years of proven experience in a similar legal counsel or corporate law role within an international or multinational environment.
- Hold a university degree in law or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in English across listening, speaking, reading, and writing; able to communicate effectively with foreign executives.
- Showcase strong skills in using Adobe Acrobat for document management as well as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word for daily operations.
- Have hands-on experience drafting legal documents and contracts tailored to diverse business needs.
- Exhibit deep understanding of providing consultation services on legal clauses relevant to commercial operations.
- Display meticulous attention when examining the validity of various documents such as contracts or memoranda.
- Be adept at tracking contract processes from initiation through finalisation while ensuring compliance at every stage.
- Hold certifications such as Commercial Law Knowledge Certification or have passed national bar examinations (e.g., High Court Lawyer).
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by participating in mock test assessments or other professional development activities.
