Regional Sourcing Manager-Category Lead
Lead all sourcing phases and develop the overall supply strategy. Collaborate cross-functionally and globally, representing Sourcing in the marketplace. Benchmark industry best practices, establish supplier satisfaction metrics, and drive continuous improvement to achieve savings targets. Lead vendor diversification and expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on potential suppliers and manufacturers; promotions, and other industry trends as source of accurate and up to date information for purchasing activates (Global Supply Market Intelligence)
- Select and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory strands to lead the supplier performance management
- Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organization’s standard of price, quality, timing and reliability of supply
- Responsible for the overall development, implementation and progress of strategic business targets.
- Verify and analyze financial, competitive sales, market data and other information about potential business partner, new markets, products, and /or services so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operation decisions.
- Support Product Development functions (i.e. aide product design, patent research, tooling negotiation, etc.)
- Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team
- Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the category
- Associate development (coaching; identify training needs and assist in developing training planning; effective communication to the Asia and US teams)
- Establish or build relationships with all key suppliers, both direct and indirect vendors to have QBR /Annual Business review
- Negotiate pricing, supplier agreement, terms volume commitment and conditions with new suppliers.
- Search out, identify and contact potential new vendors in Asia for new and existing products through trade shows, website like trading data or B2B , and onsite visit.
- Work directly with new vendor suppliers on accurate onboarding.
- People management
- Managing the company's supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending
- Generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis on end-product costs, incorporating should-cost modeling and KPIs to validate cost structure.
- Work across multiple international time zones to facilitate product/sourcing functions.
- New material and technology development
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, Supply Chain, Mechanical, Material Science, Engineering: MBA or MS , and CPSM are preferred.
- 10+ years in Sourcing and procurement function in plumbing or distribution industry with in-depth hands-n experience in strategic sourcing.
- Chinese and English language competency required.
- Candidate must be able to self-supervise to achieve daily goals
- Possess strategic critical thinking skill, and able to anticipate directions from Senior Leadership
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software
- Understand market dynamics and sound business judgement
- Product knowledge for plumbing or specified categories for instance, lighting, appliance, etc is preferred, particularly for the North American market
- Understand key certification/specifications for N. America (i.e. IAPMO, NSF, UL, etc.)
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
- Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
- Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
- Be Able to travel in the countries
- Helpful to have knowledge of International Logistics (Incoterms, C-TPAT, ISA, etc)
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Strong attention to details
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (MS 0365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Power BI)
- High degree of work ethic and integrity.
- Able to perform at a high level in an unstructured office environment.
