What you'll do:

• Design and execute comprehensive end-to-end automated test flows that simulate real-world manufacturing inputs such as synthetic video streams, triggering local inference engines and validating web application functionality under strict conditions.
• Architect and develop robust automated testing frameworks from scratch using Python, specifically targeting embedded Linux systems and edge AI devices to ensure seamless integration and operation.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated automated UI and API test suites for web applications and local interfaces used by customers to configure, monitor, and interact with advanced vision systems.
• Build and scale hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing infrastructure to accurately simulate factory environments, stress-testing physical camera systems under demanding compute, memory, and thermal constraints.
• Investigate complex system-level failures spanning physical hardware components, custom baseboards, Linux OS kernels, network protocols such as TCP/IP and RTSP, web application layers, and Docker containers running at the edge.
• Define and execute overarching programmatic quality strategies for complex devices deployed in rigorous manufacturing settings, ensuring consistent delivery of reliable products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate automated testing into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for rapid feedback cycles.
• Utilise AI agent tools to architect efficient solutions for challenging technical problems within hardware-software co-design environments.
• Document detailed test plans, results, and best practices to foster knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies in automation frameworks and industrial protocols to enhance existing processes.

What you bring:

• At least four years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Embedded Test Engineer or Software Engineer with demonstrable technical expertise at a senior or staff level within complex product environments.
• Hands-on experience working with NVIDIA Jetson or similar resource-constrained embedded Linux systems in production settings.
• Expert proficiency in Python programming for building advanced automation frameworks as well as integrating with CI/CD pipelines and device interaction tooling.
• Proven track record of developing automated tests for web applications and APIs using modern frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress or Selenium.
• Deep familiarity with programmatically testing AIoT edge devices including embedded Linux systems and local network protocols like TCP/IP or RTSP.
• Professional experience utilising or a strong passion for leveraging AI agent tools to architect solutions that efficiently address difficult technical challenges.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with an ability to navigate ambiguity within hardware-software co-design environments while maintaining dependable project ownership.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills enabling effective collaboration within cross-functional engineering teams focused on shared goals.
