What you'll do:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional software development teams located in Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United States, and Canada to ensure high-quality releases for payment terminals and related components such as SDKs, EMV configurations, Android applications, firmware, and ROM.
- Develop comprehensive non-functional test plans tailored to diverse product requirements and perform exploratory testing to validate software functionality under various scenarios.
- Conduct thorough functional, regression, and non-functional testing cycles aimed at identifying defects and verifying the stability and accuracy of software products prior to release.
- Report identified software defects promptly and work cooperatively with developers and project managers to facilitate effective resolution while monitoring progress until closure.
- Provide timely updates on testing progress, results, potential risks, and user impact to all relevant project stakeholders throughout each phase of the development lifecycle.
- Continuously refine manual testing processes by proactively identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements based on feedback from previous releases.
- Participate in regular meetings with automation engineers and other stakeholders to share insights that enhance overall product quality.
- Document detailed test cases and maintain accurate records of test results for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Support knowledge sharing within the team by contributing best practices learned during testing activities.
- Assist in evaluating new tools or methodologies that could further improve manual QA effectiveness.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated experience in manual software quality assurance or software testing within payment systems or similar technology-driven environments.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive non-functional test plans that address both expected use cases and edge scenarios.
- Strong skills in performing functional, regression, and non-functional testing using industry-standard methodologies.
- Excellent communication abilities enabling you to report defects clearly and collaborate effectively with developers, project managers, automation engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation of test cases and results for compliance purposes.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams distributed across different geographic locations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payment terminal hardware or mobile point-of-sale devices would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities based on previous testing cycles or stakeholder feedback.
- Comfortable providing timely updates on progress while managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training programmes aimed at enhancing technical skills.
