What you'll do:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases for professional AV products, ensuring thorough coverage of functional, system, regression, stress, and compatibility validation scenarios.
- Design, implement, and maintain sophisticated automation test scripts using Python or equivalent tools to enhance efficiency, repeatability, and overall test coverage.
- Validate industry-standard ProAV signal protocols such as HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, HDBaseT, AVoIP, EDID, HDCP, video timing formats, and audio/video performance metrics.
- Conduct rigorous system-level and interoperability testing across a wide range of third-party conferencing devices, AV controllers, DSPs, cameras, and other ecosystem equipment to ensure seamless integration.
- Investigate complex issues by reproducing defects in controlled environments; meticulously document findings and analyse logs to identify root causes.
- Collaborate closely with research & development teams as well as firmware/software engineers and product managers to resolve issues efficiently and uphold high standards of product quality.
- Continuously improve testing methodologies by identifying gaps in current processes and proposing enhancements that drive greater accuracy and reliability.
- Participate actively in cross-functional meetings to share insights on product behaviour during validation cycles and contribute to strategic decision-making regarding releases.
- Support technical support teams by providing clear documentation on known issues and troubleshooting steps for field deployments.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in ProAV technologies to ensure all validation activities remain relevant and effective.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Audio-Visual Technology or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may also be considered for candidates with exceptional backgrounds.
- At least five years’ hands-on experience conducting structured testing within the ProAV industry—demonstrating proficiency across functional, system-level, regression, boundary testing based on evolving product requirements.
- Advanced skills in developing automated test scripts using Python or similar scripting languages—enabling efficient workflow creation for repeated validation tasks.
- In-depth understanding of key ProAV technologies including HDMI/DisplayPort/USB-C/HDBaseT/AVoIP protocols as well as EDID/HDCP compliance standards; familiarity with video timing formats and colour space management is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive system-level validation along with interoperability assessments involving third-party conferencing systems or AV control environments.
- Exceptional analytical abilities paired with clear communication skills—enabling accurate reproduction of issues from field reports or internal tests while documenting defects thoroughly for engineering review.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams spanning R&D departments through technical support—ensuring rapid resolution of identified problems without compromising quality benchmarks.
- A proactive approach towards continuous improvement—regularly reviewing existing processes to suggest practical enhancements that benefit both immediate projects and long-term organisational goals.
- Familiarity with log analysis tools or debugging utilities commonly used within AV environments is highly desirable for effective issue diagnosis.
