What you'll do:
- Design, write, and execute detailed manual test cases for web-based systems to ensure all functionalities align with specified requirements.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device compatibility testing to guarantee consistent user experiences across platforms.
- Report system defects clearly by writing comprehensive bug reports that facilitate effective troubleshooting by development teams.
- Track defects throughout their lifecycle using industry-standard tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla, ensuring timely resolution and transparent communication.
- Utilise browser developer tools to observe errors, analyse network requests, and provide actionable feedback during the testing process.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and developers to assist with acceptance testing and ensure smooth project delivery.
- Apply black-box testing techniques like equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis to uncover potential issues early in the development cycle.
- Document test plans, test cases, and test reports with clarity using test case management tools such as TestRail or Zephyr.
- Support the verification of database records by applying basic SQL queries when necessary during the testing process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing insights on software testing methodologies and best practices within the team.
What you bring:
- monstrated ability to design, write, and execute comprehensive manual test cases tailored for web or mobile applications.
- Proficiency in black-box testing techniques such as equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis for effective issue identification.
- Experience conducting web application or mobile application testing with attention to detail across multiple platforms.
- Basic understanding of API testing principles that enable you to validate backend functionality when required.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla for efficient reporting and monitoring of system issues.
- Clear documentation skills demonstrated through well-structured test plans, test cases, and concise bug reports using tools like TestRail or Zephyr.
- Solid grasp of software testing fundamentals including methodologies relevant to both SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
- Basic knowledge of databases coupled with the ability to write simple SQL queries for data verification purposes.
- Understanding of defect categorisation principles that allow you to prioritise issues effectively based on impact.
- Nice to have: Experience using Postman or similar API testing tools; familiarity with website UI/UX testing; hands-on experience with Redmine or other tracking solutions.
